My Favorite Pics

The following series of pictures is what I would say are my favorite pictures that I have taken thus far. A few of these pics complete the Family and Friends post that you have already seen. I hope you enjoy them and I look forward to your comments as to how I might improve my photography skills. Positive criticism is greatly appreciated. May you enjoy them as much as I have :-)

Dear Ken: I am so glad to see someone who appreciates the beauty of Ottawa! I have been enjoying your ongoing saga.....I couldn;t think of a favourite Sagism...howabout the famous last words of Abraham Lincoln's wife to Abraham Lincoln?......"Would it kill you to take me to the theatre once in awhile?"

Hey Jane - that's a good one - I'm still laughing! Our trip to Ottawa with Ken was so much fun. We'll have to wait until he's home again and come for Winterlude! Ken, are you up for skating a few kilometers on the Canal?

What, are you kidding, I was born in Michigan wasn't I. Ok, so it's not Canada but it's close enough isn't it. I mean after all, Michigan does have the greatest NHL team ever and several spectacular NCAA College teams. Count on it :-)

As to Jane, I think the next time I come up for a visit, I'll be ovoiding the theaters thak you very much!

"he he he"
Instead of "winterlude" I am trying to convince Kathy we should do "korealude"
Kathy-- I didn't win the trip to Japan-- if there is a contest with a trip to Korea we'll all have to enter. Jane

So I'm currious??? The political stuff that you commented on in a previous blog posting. Something about not even the States could match the politicking. What was happening in Ottawa????

Hmmm - it's a long story......You see, we have a minority government. The conservatives aligned with the Bloque Quebecois to defeat the liberal budget. At the last minute the "star - trophy girl" MP Belinda Stonich crossed the floor and became a Liberal. She is now the Minister of Human Resources (or whatever it's called). Her "love interest" the second in command of the conservatives was heart broken...... This week. A conservative MP is making allegations that he was offered a plush job with the liberals if he too would have joined the liberals for the non-confidence vote....he has a tape to substantiate his allegations only the Prime minister's office is denying this and actually the RCMP were saying the tape had been doctored with. The hill is a buzz... Friends of mine couldn't make plans over the long weekend in May because it depended on the vote in the government. My one friend, works for a liberal MP close to the PM. I guess they expected they would be shredding papers all weekend if they lost. As it was, the liberals one the vote by one vote (Belinda Stronach). Then, there is the whole "gomery" inquiry and the millions of dollars that have gone missing...it sounds like a "liberal mafia" that one is wild....Sorry it;s so long but it takes alot of explaining...but that in a nutshell is buzz around her. wow, what a mess. They're still squabaling over the millions of dallors that was lost?! I thought the last ellection covered that up since the Libs were re-elected. I would have thought it would have been covered up, put to bed so to speak. Not that it should be, but they did get re-elected.

Even though the Liberals were re-elected, the Gomery inquiry was set up by Prime Minister Paul Martin to get to the bottom of the spending. He continually promises the public that the people responsible will be uncovered and will be held responsible and accountable. We'll see.....
When the Conservatives started calling for an electing and threatening the non-confidence vote in the legislature, Paul Martin 'begged' the public to wait until the Gomery inquiry is complete so that we can get to the bottom of the scandal. He also promised to call an electing within 6 months of the completion of the inquiry. Ahhhh, mayhem, mystery and manoeuvring in Canadian politics. It doesn't get much better than this.
